Job summary

La Clinica de La Raza is seeking a Medical Assistant I/II (temporary full-time) to support patient-centered care in a fast-paced clinic. You will prepare exam rooms, record histories in the EHR, take vitals, and assist providers with exams and procedures, while maintaining confidentiality and delivering compassionate service.

The role requires a High School diploma and MA training or equivalent, with BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• MA I: qualify via training program OR BLS OR 1 year hospital/clinic experience with sign-off OR on-the-job training with sign-off within 90 days.
• MA II: certification from AAMA/AMT/CCMA/NRCMA; BLS required; phlebotomy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms and set up medical laboratory equipment.
• Verify purpose of visit and record medical history in EHR.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Take vital signs and perform preliminary physical tests.
• Administer medications and injections as directed.
• Explain procedures and provide patient education.
• Schedule follow-up or recall appointments.
• Assist providers during examinations and treatments.
• Coordinate patient flow to improve access and efficiency.
• Ensure logs, forms, and charts are complete and accurate.
