CLS Health PLLC in Houston, TX seeks an experienced Medical Assistant for a multispecialty practice. You will room patients, record chief complaints, update medical histories, take vitals, prep charts, verify benefits, and assist physicians with examinations and procedures.

This role requires certification or registration as a Medical Assistant, excellent communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Travel to CLS Health locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with a nationally recognized accreditation organization or graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program.
• Experience in a medical office or customer service environment preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsabilités

• Room the patient and interview/update chief complaint, medical history, medication list, and take vitals.
• Prepare patient charts a week in advance and verify benefits reports.
• Scan documents to appropriate patient charts and ensure rooms are stocked and clean.
• Refill patient medications as directed and obtain pre-authorization/determination.
• Assist physician in the exam room with wound care and procedures.
• Follow up on calls/voicemails and document conversations.
• Educate patients on DI, labs, referrals, and procedures.
• Schedule next appointments and obtain authorization before orders.
• Travel to other CLS Health locations and perform related duties.

We are Looking for:

Someone who is an experienced Medical Assistant for a multispecialty medical practice. The medical assistant should perform a supportive role in delivering comprehensive care to the patient that is safe, effective, and efficient.

Responsibilities:

• Rooming the patient
• Interview/update patient's chief complaint, medical history, medication list, and take vitals.
• Prepares patient charts a week in advance and verifies benefits reports.
• Scanning documents to appropriate patient charts.
• Makes sure all rooms are stocked and clean before clinic, after each patient, and at the end of the day.
• Refill patient medications as directed by a physician and obtain Pre-Authorization/Determination for medications.
• Ensures that physician is in-network and authorized/up-to-date referral is in the patient's chart.
• Assist the physician in the exam room with any wound care and/or procedures.
• Follow up on calls/voicemails and document phone log/conversation
• Educates and informs the patient of any DI, labs, referrals, and procedures physicians might have ordered.
• Schedules patients for upcoming appointments after the physician sees the patient.
• Obtains authorization prior to sending any orders when needed.
• Main fax line– Distribute faxes to appropriate team member(s)
• Travel to other CLS Health Locations
• Performs related duties as required.

Requirements

• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with a nationally recognized accreditation organization or graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program
• Experience in a medical office or customer service environment preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing preferred
