Job summary

Unio Health Partners is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care across California locations. You will work with physicians and staff to perform procedures, assist with appointments, document in EMR, and help with follow-up care as needed.

Occasional travel to UNIO locations may be required. Responsibilities include efficient turnover of patient rooms, vitals collection, specimen transport, and preparation of EMR documents for upcoming visits.

Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant Certificate is a plus.
  • Phlebotomy Certificate is a plus.
  • High school diploma or GED certificate is required.
  • 0-3 years of healthcare experience preferred including Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system experience.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills preferred based on location.
  • Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure efficient turnover of patient rooms and maintain timely daily schedule flow.
  • Provide patient care: taking vitals, documenting intake forms, medical history, explain procedure instructions, assist with follow up care as needed.
  • Maintain instruments and equipment: sterilized, disinfected, autoclaved, and follow proper cleaning/storage per item specifications.
  • Submit prior authorizations for medications, procedures, and labs.
  • Assist with updating supply order lists and ensure supplies are stocked; prevent shortages.
  • Assist physicians and staff with procedures: patient room setup,phlebotomy, injections, and medication preparation.
  • Daily preparation of EMR: retrieve/upload labs, diagnostic studies, post-op reports, authorizations, and necessary documentation for upcoming appointments.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Medical Assistantis responsible forpatient care delivery by working cooperatively with allstaffmembers in planning, performing, assistingwith procedures, appointments, patient relations,follow upcare, and other tasks as requested by a physician. The Medical Assistant is expected to adhere to all standards of healthcare to provide a professional, comfortable, and efficient work environment for patients, physicians, andstaffmembers.

What you will be doing

  • Assistphysiciansandstaff memberswith procedures: patient room andtray setup, specimen collection and transport, phlebotomy, administer injections, and medication preparation (reconstitution).
  • Daily preparation of EMR: Retrieve anduploading oflabs, diagnostic studies,post opreports, authorizations, and any documentation necessary for patient upcoming appointments. Confirm medication/s or supplies are in stock prior to patient appointments.
What you will bring to the team
  • Medical Assistant Certificate of Completionis a plus
  • Phlebotomy Certificateis a plus
  • High school diploma or GED certificaterequired.
  • 0-3 years of healthcare experience preferred including Electronic Medical Records(EMR)system experience.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills preferred (languages may vary by location based on patient population). Employees may be asked toassistwith patient communication or interpretation in their language(s) of fluency, asappropriate, to support patient care and operational needs.
  • Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Travel
  • Occasional travel to any of the UNIO locations may berequired.
