Job summary

Unio Health Partners is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care delivery across facilities in California. This temporary position through November 2026 requires collaboration with physicians and staff to prepare rooms, take vitals, document forms, and assist with procedures and follow-up care.

The ideal candidate will have a High school diploma or GED, EMR experience, basic Microsoft Office skills, and may hold a Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy certification.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant Certificate of Completion is a plus.
• Phlebotomy Certificate is a plus.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 0-3 years of healthcare experience preferred including EMR experience.
• Bilingual or multilingual skills preferred to support patient communication.
• Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient turnover of patient rooms and maintain timely daily schedule flow.
• Provide patient care: taking vitals, documenting intake forms, medical history, and explaining instructions.
• Maintain instruments and equipment: sterilize, disinfect, autoclave and follow cleaning/storage protocols.
• Submit prior authorizations for medications, procedures, and labs.
• Assist with updating supply orders and ensure supplies are stocked.
• Assist physicians and staff with procedures: setup, specimen collection/transport, phlebotomy, injections, and medication preparation.
• Daily preparation of EMR: retrieve/upload labs, post-op reports, authorizations, and ensure stock for upcoming appointments.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Medical Assistantis responsible forpatient care delivery by working cooperatively with allstaffmembers in planning, performing,assistingwith procedures, appointments, patient relations,follow upcare, and other tasks as requested by a physician. The Medical Assistant is expected to adhere to all standards of healthcare to provide a professional,comfortable,and efficient work environment for patients, physicians,andstaffmembers.

What you will be doing

• Ensureefficient turnover of patient rooms andmaintaintimelydaily schedule flow.
• Provide patient care: taking vitals, documenting intake forms (this may include portalassistance), medical history, explain procedure instructions,assistwithfollow upcare instructions as needed.
• Maintain Instruments and Equipment: sterilized,disinfect,autoclaved,and follow proper equipment cleaning and storage per item specifications.
• Submit prior authorizations for ordered medications,procedures,and labs.
• Assistwith updating supply order lists, ensure supplies are up to date and fully stocked; prevent supply shortage.
• Assistphysiciansandstaff memberswith procedures: patient room andtray setup, specimen collection and transport, phlebotomy, administer injections, and medication preparation (reconstitution).
• Daily preparation of EMR: Retrieve anduploading oflabs, diagnostic studies,post opreports, authorizations, and any documentation necessary for patient upcoming appointments. Confirm medication/s or supplies are in stock prior to patient appointments.

• 0-3 years of healthcare experience preferred including Electronic Medical Records(EMR)system experience.
• Bilingual or multilingual skills preferred (languages may vary by location based on patient population). Employees may be asked toassistwith patient communication or interpretation in their language(s) of fluency, asappropriate, to support patient care and operational needs.
• Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
