Position Details

• Position Title: Medical Assistant
• Department: MNTP/Program Development
• Reports To: Program Supervisor

Seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join Tarzana Treatment Centers’ Mobile Narcotic Treatment Program (MNTP). Working in a fast-paced environment, the incumbent will be part of a multidisciplinary team including peer-support specialists, nurses, and medical providers working directly with OTP patients. Responsibilities include providing individual and group counseling, screening, assessments, and other duties assigned by the program supervisor. Awareness of medications for addiction treatment (MAT) and/or experience in SUD treatment is preferred.

Salary Range

$25 - $27 per hour DOE

Responsibilities

1. Conduct interviews, screenings, and health assessments.
2. Document observations and patient progress.
3. Assist in treatment planning.
4. Apply/remove bandages, dressings, and orthopedic devices.
5. Perform ophthalmic testing, suture/staple removal, ear lavage, and specimen collection.
6. Assist with patient mobility and prepare patients for examinations.
7. Provide patient instructions as authorized.
8. Record vital signs and patient data.
9. Perform basic lab and screening tests.
10. Administer first aid and CPR in emergencies.
11. Perform front office duties: answering phones, scheduling, filing.
12. Order supplies and maintain stocked rooms.
13. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Completion of a state-approved medical assistant program; phlebotomy certificate is helpful.
Experience: 3 months to 1 year as a medical assistant or internship with Tarzana Treatment Centers.
