Job summary

Patient First in Alexandria, VA seeks dedicated healthcare support staff to assist nurses and physicians in a fast-paced center. You will help locate patients, collect vital signs, triage, and prepare patients for examinations.

Responsibilities include using the EMR, ordering labs and supplies, assisting with treatments, performing phlebotomy, and maintaining a clean, well-stocked workspace. Prior clinical experience is a plus and lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.

Qualifications

• Typing experience is required or preferred.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a clinical setting.
• Good communication skills with patients and staff.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1 year of clinical experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Locate patients and obtain accurate vital signs by visual and auditory measures.
• Triage patients and prepare them for exams and treatments by physicians and nurses.
• Use the electronic medical record system for documenting care.
• Order labs, x-ray, and medical supplies as directed.
• Assist nurses and physicians with patient treatment and care, communicating symptoms and questions.
• Perform phlebotomy and sterilize/setup instruments.
• Maintain cleanliness of treatment areas and restock rooms; manage laundry as needed.
• Attend staff meetings and follow policies and procedures as directed.
