Job summary

Carbon Health in California is seeking a Medical Assistant to support frontline patient care in a fast-paced clinic. This hourly, full-time role blends clinical tasks with administrative duties to ensure smooth patient flow and accurate documentation.

You will greet patients, take vital signs, assist with examinations and procedures, collect specimens, and record visits in the EHR, while coordinating schedules and referrals with the care team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent clinical training.
• Current Medical Assistant certification or registration preferred; may be required by state.
• BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain after hire.
• Experience in clinical healthcare settings and proficiency with EHRs.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality (HIPAA).

Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients for examinations and document medical history.
• Measure vital signs and assist with examinations and procedures.
• Collect specimens and perform point-of-care tests as permitted.
• Prepare examination rooms and maintain supplies and equipment.
• Document patient information in the EHR and coordinate patient flow.
• Schedule appointments, handle referrals, and manage communications.
