Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the Tri Rivers Musculoskeletal team. The role is primarily based at 9104 Babcock Blvd, with regular travel to Cranberry and Mars offices; mileage is reimbursed.

Hours are 7am–5pm, Monday–Friday, with a 4×10 schedule; no evenings, weekends, or holidays. You will support front-office and clinical tasks, including chart preparation, phlebotomy, EKGs, vitals, and patient education.

Qualifications

• Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• HIPAA-compliant handling of patient records.
• Obtain lab & imaging reports; schedule appointments; verify insurance.
• Prepare exam rooms; maintain infection control; manage supplies.
• Assist patient flow; take vitals; collect specimens; assist with exams.
• Answer calls; provide patient education.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and basic labs; document in medical records.
• Comply with OSHA/CLIA and PA Dept of Health; protect confidentiality.
• Under physician supervision, administer injections and vaccines.
