Job summary

UPMC's Tri-Rivers Multi Speciality office in Mars, PA is seeking a Medical Assistant to support back-office functions in a growing Rheumatology and Osteoporosis division.

Hours are Monday through Friday daylight hours with no evenings or weekends; some travel to Cranberry and Slippery Rock locations for staffing needs may be required. Prior MA experience is preferred, and free parking is available at all sites.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Send/receive patient records per HIPAA and regulations.
• Obtain lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referrals, schedule appointments, verify insurance, prepare and manage charts.
• Prepare patient rooms, maintain infection control, manage inventory of supplies.
• Assist patients with movement, collect vitals, support exam flow.
• Answer calls and provide patient education as directed.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and basic clinic procedures; document in medical records.
• Comply with OSHA, CLIA, PA DoH; maintain confidentiality of medical records.
• Administer injectable medications and vaccines under physician supervision.
