Job summary

UPMC | GoHealth Urgent Care in Pennsylvania is seeking a Medical Assistant to support urgent care operations. You will register patients, take vitals, and assist providers while upholding a welcoming, efficient patient experience in a fast-paced environment.

We welcome candidates from diverse clinical backgrounds. Minimum $17/hour with incentive pay and a sign-on bonus up to $2,000 for eligible applicants; certifications such as CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, NRCMA or nursing credentials are encouraged

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required with 1+ year MA experience.
• MA certifications accepted at hire or within 12 months: CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, NRCMA.
• LPN/LVN or nursing degree may qualify at hire.
• BLS certification required at time of hire.
• CPOE certification within 2 weeks if MA cert not obtained.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance.
• Schedule appointments and process co-pays.
• Prepare patients for examination and record medical history.
• Perform vital signs and preliminary patient assessments.
• Assist providers with patient care and procedures.
• Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and medical records.
• Answer patient questions and coordinate referrals.
• Open/close duties and equipment quality checks.
