Job summary

Boulder Medical Center seeks a Medical Assistant to join its Pediatric Team in Boulder, CO. This full-time role covers a 36-hour work week, Monday–Thursday, with Fridays off and a rotating Saturday shift, serving patients from birth to 18 years old.

The MA will support clinicians, prepare rooms, and ensure smooth clinic operations. Candidates should have Medical Assistant training (certification not required but preferred) and experience in primary or specialty care clinics.

  • Experience in clinic settings and pediatrics preferred.
  • Ability to travel between sites and work at multiple locations if needed.

Job Description

BMC is a local, independent, and physician-owned medical group with over 20 primary and specialty care departments, 90 providers, and 325+ clinical and support professionals. Since our founding by 10 physicians in 1949, we have grown and evolved to meet the needs of Boulder County and beyond. We currently have clinics located in Boulder (2 locations), Louisville, Longmont, and Erie.

Summary: Boulder Medical Center (BMC) is currently seeking Medical Assistant (MA) candidates to join our Pediatric Team! This is a benefits-eligible position working 36 hours per week Monday through Thursday with Fridays off and a Saturday morning shift from 8 am - 12 pm every 7th Saturday. This position is located in Boulder, CO.

Join a team of board-certified pediatricians providing compassionate, family-centered care for patients from birth through age 18. Our pediatric clinics deliver preventive, developmental, and medical care, partnering with families to support children's health and well-being through every stage of growth.

Job Duties
  • Provides comprehensive professional nursing care to individuals and/or families acting as the patient’s advocate, facilitator, and educator.
  • Recognizes, evaluates, and responds to emergency or unusual situations in the clinic, using nursing judgment to ensure medical care.
  • Assists the patient and/or instructs the patient in preparation for the provider’s examination and/or specific treatment.
  • Prepares examination/treatment rooms for provider’s use by ensuring that appropriate supplies, equipment and instruments are available and ready on a daily basis. Maintains examination/treatment rooms in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Assists the provider with examination by anticipating needs for instruments and supplies. (e.g., minor surgery, pelvic examinations, diagnostic procedures, etc.)
Experience and Skills
  • Must be able to recognize and identify patient’s symptoms and use appropriate professional judgment in course of action.
  • Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel to and work at all four (4) BMC sites, as assigned.
  • Must be available by phone to accept assignment changes as needed.
Education Requirements (one of the following options)
  • Completion of Medical Assistant education. *Certification is not required but preferred.
  • Other completed medical training, education, and proof of active certification is an acceptable substitution of Medial Assistant specific credentials. (Examples include but are not limited to: EMT, Surgical Tech, CNA, etc.).
  • Military medical training and education with supporting documentation is an acceptable substitution of Medial Assistant specific credentials.
  • College graduates with a completed four (4) year bachelor's degree is an acceptable substitution of Medial Assistant specific credentials.*College transcripts must reflect completed health science course work. Please submit a copy of your unofficial college transcripts at the time of applying.
Experience
  • Previous experience as a Medical Assistant (MA) in a clinic setting, preferred
Starting hourly pay range
  • $18.91 - $27.98/hour
