Job summary

MLK Community Healthcare in Los Angeles is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Wilmington Clinic to support providers in family practice and specialty settings. Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant Diploma/Certificate.
• Minimum of one year experience in a medical practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association.
• Certified by a Medical Board of California Approved Medical Assistant Certifying Organization preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers in patient care procedures and document per office protocols.
• Monitor patient flow and coordinate with the Practice Manager to minimize delays.
• Perform injections, immunizations, pulmonary function tests, Snellen and hearing exams, and EKGs.
• Obtain thorough patient histories and document preventive care; assist with med reconciliation.
• Review orders and referrals for accuracy and complete documentation in the EMR.
