Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform X-ray imaging and patient care in an urgent care setting. You will collaborate with providers, prepare patients, and ensure high-quality diagnostic images while following ALARA and safety protocols.

Requirements include ARRT certification, state licensure where applicable, and BLS. Prior clinical experience is preferred, with emphasis on patient positioning and image accuracy.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technologist program required.
  • ARRT registration required at time of hire.
  • State licensure as Radiologic Technologist required at time of hire where applicable by state law.
  • BLS required at time of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with providers and medical assistants on patient care, organization, and communication.
  • Deliver imaging services using X-ray technology for patients of all ages.
  • Perform Medical Assistant duties under a provider after training.
  • Perform and analyze patient X-rays and report results to Medical Providers.
  • Provide administrative support for efficient urgent care center operations.
  • Perform X-ray services under clinical provider direction to assist diagnosis or treatment.
  • Position patients and equipment correctly while ensuring safety and protection.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, verify information, and record medical history.
  • Perform preliminary physical tests and elevate critical cases to providers.
  • Conduct point-of-care testing such as flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, and HCG.
  • Maintain medical records and scan charts to patient files.
  • Conduct courtesy call-backs for patient follow-up.
  • Perform and document daily equipment controls and calibration.
  • Maintain QA/QC logs, troubleshoot breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, and submit repair tickets.
  • Collaborate with ordering/treating providers to determine appropriate procedures and views.
  • Explain procedures, ensure patient comfort and safety, and answer questions.
  • Select radiographic controls to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Clean and maintain X-ray equipment and manage supplies.
  • Follow radiation safety protocols and ALARA principles.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and procedure logs.
  • Verify image quality and send images to radiologists for interpretation

Requirements
  • High School Diploma required
  • Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technologist program required
  • Clinical setting experience preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required at time of hire
  • State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required at time of hire where applicable by state lawKnowledge of X-ray procedures and protocols
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, including body mechanics and patient movement
  • Knowledge of radiology equipment and common safety hazards
  • Ability to position patients properly for X-ray procedures
  • Ability to identify equipment problems and correct them or notify a supervisor
  • Ability to follow infection control and radiological safety procedures
