Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Radiologic Technologist for an urgent care setting. You will perform X-ray procedures, ensure patient safety, and collaborate with providers to optimize care. The role requires ARRT certification, state licensure, and BLS, with clinical experience preferred.

You will maintain records, operate imaging equipment, and contribute to QA/QC while upholding ALARA principles in a busy center.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technologist program required.
  • Clinical setting experience preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire.
  • ARRT registration required at time of hire.
  • State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required at time of hire, if applicable by state law.
  • Knowledge of X-ray procedures and protocols.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, body mechanics, and patient movement.
  • Knowledge of radiology equipment and common radiology safety hazards.
  • Ability to position patients properly for X-ray procedures.
  • Ability to identify equipment problems and correct them or notify a supervisor.
  • Ability to follow infection-control and radiological-safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and analyze patient X-rays and report results to Medical Providers.
  • Provide administrative support for efficient urgent care center operations.
  • Position patients and equipment correctly while ensuring safety.
  • Prepare patients, verify information, record medical history, and confirm visit purpose.
  • Perform preliminary physical tests and escalate critical cases to providers.
  • Conduct point-of-care testing including flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, and HCG.
  • Maintain medical records and scan charts to patient files.
  • Verify image quality and send images to radiologists for interpretation.

Job description

  • Collaborate with providers and medical assistants on patient care, organization, and communication
  • Deliver imaging services using X-ray technology for patients of all ages
  • Perform Medical Assistant duties under a provider after training
  • Perform and analyze patient X-rays and report results to Medical Providers
  • Provide administrative support for efficient urgent care center operations
  • Perform X-ray services under clinical provider direction for diagnosis or treatment
  • Position patients and equipment correctly while ensuring safety
  • Prepare patients, verify information, record medical history, and confirm visit purpose
  • Perform preliminary physical tests and escalate critical cases to providers
  • Conduct point-of-care testing including flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, and HCG
  • Maintain medical records and scan charts to patient files
  • Conduct courtesy call-backs for patient follow-up
  • Perform and document daily equipment controls and calibration
  • Maintain QA/QC equipment logs, troubleshoot breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, and submit repair tickets
  • Collaborate with ordering/treating providers to determine appropriate procedures and views
  • Explain procedures, ensure patient comfort and safety, and answer questions
  • Select radiographic factors and adjust controls to produce diagnostic images
  • Clean and maintain X-ray equipment and manage supplies
  • Follow radiation safety protocols and ALARA principles
  • Maintain accurate patient records and procedure logs
  • Verify image quality and send images to radiologists for interpretation
Requirements
  • High School Diploma required

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required at time of hire
