Job summary

Englewood Health is hiring a Medical Assistant/Receptionist for Bergenfield. The role supports patient flow, administers basic clinical tasks, and handles front-d desk duties in a busy ambulatory setting.

Under supervision, you will collect demographics, assist with procedures, manage records and billing tasks, and ensure a courteous, confidential patient experience in a day-shift environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or 5 years MA/PCT experience.
• Completion of an accredited MA/PCT program preferred.
• CPR preferred; CMA/RMA/PCT certification required for injections and medication documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms, take patient histories and vitals, assist with minor procedures, perform phlebotomy/EKG as ordered, and distribute necessary screening/history forms.
• Greet and assist patients/visitors in person and by phone, manage inquiries, relay messages, maintain courteous communication, and uphold confidentiality and service excellence standards.
• Verify insurance eligibility, remind patients about appointments, register and check in patients, prepare visit documents, manage late arrivals, and maintain an orderly waiting room.
• Maintain accurate patient files, demographics, insurance details, financial records, and scan required documents into imaging systems.
• Retrieve voicemails/faxes, provide general policy information, collect payments or refer to credit representatives, attend meetings, participate in QA and professional development.
