Job summary

CAN Community Health, Inc. in Fort Lauderdale is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support clinical and front-desk operations across CAN clinics.

You will perform vital signs, intake, immunizations, phlebotomy, EMR data entry, scheduling, and patient communications while maintaining accurate documentation and privacy standards.

The role requires CPR, MA certification or progress toward it, and travel up to 50% as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA) required or ability to achieve within 6 months of hire.
• CPR certification required.
• 1+ years clinical experience preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Perform medical intake procedures including vital signs and history.
• Evaluate and document patient conditions and responses to treatments.
• Perform immunizations as directed by the physician.
• Carry out phlebotomy tasks and specimen handling per protocol.
• Greet and assist patients with professionalism; collect payments and verify insurance.
• Learn and use the EMR system accurately and pass audits with 95% accuracy.
• Maintain temperature logs for clinic equipment and medications.
• Ensure all patient information is accurately documented and filed.
