Job summary

Englewood Health in northern New Jersey seeks a Medical Assistant/Patient Care Technician to support patient flow, registration, and front-desk duties in our OmniCare Medical department. Under general supervision, you will interview patients, collect demographics, and assist clinicians.

Requirements include High School diploma or equivalent, completion of MA/PCT program preferred, CPR certification, CMA/RMA/PCT certification, and injection/medication handling certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent or 5 years MA/PCT experience.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant/Patient Care Technician program preferred.
• Current CPR Certification.
• CMA/RMA/PCT certification.
• Certification required for injection administration and medication documentation/handling.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients or representatives to obtain personal, demographic, and financial information.
• Answer telephones, receive the public, and provide customer assistance.
• Data processing, computer data entry and other record-keeping tasks related to patient registration.
• Assist with flow of patients from waiting area to exam rooms and prep patients for examinations.
• Experience with medical terminology and practice management systems preferred.
