Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years medical office experience preferred.
• Formal Medical Assistant training or certification preferred.
• Knowledge of HMO insurance, verification, and referrals required.
• Familiarity with Athena EMR, CPT and ICD-10 codes is a plus.
• Strong organizational, customer service, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in computer use, typing, and EMR documentation.

Aufgaben

• Greet patients, check-in, and coordinate patient flow with the clinical team.
• Verify and update patient demographics and insurance information; ensure referrals are in place.
• Assist with clinical procedures, rooming, vital signs, and triage as directed.
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist physicians with procedures.
• Schedule appointments and handle pre-certifications for tests (CT, MRI, PET).
• Maintain patient charts and ensure accurate records; manage faxes and records routing.
• Order medical supplies and keep exam rooms clean and organized.
• Protect patient confidentiality and perform other duties as assigned.
