Job summary

HonorHealth is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Internal Medicine Clinic in Mesa, AZ. This role provides front and back office support, escorts patients, maintains exam rooms and handles patient communication under provider supervision.

Responsibilities include vitals, clerical duties, injections, venipuncture, basic labs and scheduling. Requires MA training, BLS, and a fingerprint clearance card; CMA/CCMA/RMA certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of a MA training program - Required
• High School Diploma or GED - Required
• 6 months experience as a Medical Assistant - Preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required
• Fingerprint Clearance Card - Required
• Medical Assistant Certification (e.g., CMA, CCMA, RMA) - Preferred

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to exam rooms and provides front/back office support.
• Maintains clean, stocked exam rooms and appropriate paperwork.
• Collects vital signs and patient history; supports examinations.
• Performs or assists with injections, phlebotomy and basic lab tests as directed.
• Answers calls, schedules appointments and relays information to providers.
• Organizes insurance authorizations and referrals; supports case management as needed.
