Job summary

MarinHealth is seeking a Medical Assistant for Day Shift to support front and back clinic operations. The role includes rooming patients, taking vitals, and assisting with procedures under supervision of Clinical Lead and Practice Leader.

Required: High school diploma or GED, Medical Assistant certification (NHA/AMCA), and BLS. At least one year of medical assisting experience; re-processing/ procedural experience preferred. Competitive pay and benefits apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant certification from an accredited program (NHA and AMCA) required.
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association) required.
• At least one year of related medical assisting experience in a physician’s office or other clinical setting; re-processing/procedural experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain vital signs and reasons for visit, and document symptoms.
• Provide injections, immunizations and other patient care services as ordered by the medical provider.
• Assist with procedures and re-processing of instruments.
• Document all information in the EMR, including Meaningful Use data and ACO related information.
• Answer telephones, schedule appointments, check in patients, and resolve patient concerns.
• Process insurance verifications and authorizations and assist patients in understanding plans.
