Job summary

UPMC Shadyside Family Health Center in Shadyside is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the team. The role covers back office and front office duties, with hours Monday through Friday: three days and two evenings per week, no weekends or holidays.

Qualifications

• Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Ability to perform both front office and back office duties.
• Willingness to work a schedule with three days and two evenings per week.

Responsibilities

• Send/receive patient records in compliance with HIPAA and regulations.
• Obtain lab/x-ray reports, prepare charts, schedule appointments, verify insurance.
• Prepare exam rooms, maintain infection control, manage supplies.
• Assist patients with movement, collect vitals, document in medical records.
• Answer calls and provide patient education as directed.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and basic labs; assist physicians with procedures.
• Comply with OSHA, CLIA, PA Dept of Health; maintain confidentiality.
• Administer injectable medications and vaccines under supervision.
