Job summary

Millennium Physician Group is hiring a Medical Assistant Floater to provide high-quality clinical and administrative support in the Tampa region. The MA Floater will manage patient intake, assist in exams, perform EKGs and phlebotomy, and coordinate care across outpatient and hospital settings.

The role emphasizes accurate documentation, adherence to HIPAA and safety standards, and collaboration with providers to ensure efficient patient flow and quality care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year in a physician’s office, clinic, or hospital setting.
• Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems (Epic, Athena, Cerner, or equivalent).
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Certification or registration (AAMA, AMT, NHA, or equivalent) required.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Certified in EKG or phlebotomy procedures preferred.
• Prior exposure to multi-specialty or hospital-based environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts comprehensive patient intakes, including vital signs and histories.
• Assists providers during examinations and minor procedures.
• Performs EKGs, immunizations, and specimen collection per policy.
• Prepares, labels, and processes laboratory samples and point-of-care tests.
• Maintains infection control, safety, and equipment calibration.
• Supports care coordination and patient transitions across settings.
• Educates patients on medications, treatments, and preventive care.
• Documents clinical data accurately in the EHR.
• Schedules and tracks appointments, referrals, and tests.
