Job summary

Community GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant Float to support providers, radiologic techs, and patients across our Indianapolis-area locations. This is a fast-paced, patient-facing role from check-in through discharge.

The ideal candidate is organized, service-oriented, and thrives in a collaborative team setting. You will register patients, verify insurance, record vitals, perform point-of-care tests, and help maintain a smooth daily clinic workflow.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certification is REQUIRED at time of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance and eligibility.
• Room patients and prepare them for examination.
• Record medical history and vital signs.
• Perform point-of-care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG).
• Assist providers during patient visits and communicate patient needs.
• Process co-pays and schedule follow-up appointments.
• Maintain clean, stocked, and organized exam rooms and front desk areas.
• Manage medical records, documentation, and patient communications.
• Answer phones and respond to patient inquiries.
