Job summary

Community–GoHealth Urgent Care in Indianapolis is seeking a Medical Assistant Float to support clinicians and patients in a fast-paced, patient-facing environment—from check-in through discharge.

You will register patients, record medical histories and vitals, perform point-of-care tests, assist during visits, process co-pays, and help maintain clean, organized exam rooms and front desk areas. Requires MA certification and BLS; experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certification is REQUIRED at time of hire.
• CCMA/CMA/RMA/NCMA/NRCMA certifications recognized.
• BLS certification required at hire.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance and eligibility.
• Room patients and prepare them for examination.
• Record medical history and vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, etc.).
• Perform point-of-care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG).
• Assist providers during patient visits and communicate patient needs.
• Process co-pays and schedule follow-up appointments.
• Maintain clean, stocked, and organized exam rooms and front desk areas.
• Manage medical records, documentation, and patient communications.
• Answer phones and respond to patient inquiries.
• Support daily clinic operations including opening/closing duties.
