Cahaba Medical Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers and nursing staff in delivering high-quality patient care. The role involves triage, vital signs, EMR documentation, and preparing patients for examinations and procedures.

The ideal candidate has CMA training or equivalent and experience in a medical office, with strong customer service and multitasking skills to thrive in a fast-paced clinic environment.

Qualificações

• Satisfactory completion of CMCF Medical Assistant Training Program.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred but not required.
• Experience in a medical office desired.
• Excellent customer service and phone communication skills.
• Basic experience with computers.
• Ability to manage time, multitask, and handle high-stress environments.

Responsabilidades

• Triage patients and take vital signs.
• Document patient care in EMR.
• Complete patient paperwork including prior authorizations, home health paperwork, medical supply paperwork.
• Assist provider with exams, invasive procedures and minor surgeries.
• Order standard laboratory tests for chronic disease visits.
• E-prescribe medications after provider changes.
• Schedule consultations or imaging appointments.
• Prepare patients for examination or procedures.
• Set up for procedures.
• Respond to patient messages and schedule appointments.
• Maintain stock and inventory in rooms.
• Administer medications and vaccines upon competency.
• Perform patient tests and screenings, including x-rays.
• Perform waived laboratory testing as ordered by physician.
• Remove sutures or staples from superficial wounds and other external devices.
• Work through assigned tasks in EMR.
• Communicate with other physician offices, patients, and pharmacies.
