Job summary

Cahaba Medical Care Foundation is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers and nursing staff in delivering efficient, high‑quality patient care. You will triage, document in EMR, assist with exams, order labs, and help schedule tests and procedures.

Travel may be required occasionally. Ideal candidates have completed the CMCF Medical Assistant Training Program, possess strong customer service and communication skills, and can manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Satisfactory completion of CMCF Medical Assistant Training Program.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred but not required.
• Experience in a medical office desired.
• Excellent customer service and phone communication skills.
• Basic experience with computers.
• Ability to manage time, multitask, and handle high-stress environments.

Responsibilities

• Triage patients and take vital signs.
• Document all patient care in EMR.
• Complete patient paperwork including prior authorizations and home health paperwork.
• Assist providers with exams, minor procedures and order lab tests.
• Schedule consultation or imaging appointments for patients.
• Prepare patients for examination or procedures and set up for procedures.
• Respond to patient messages and coordinate appointments.
• Administer medications and vaccines as competency allows.
• Perform patient tests and screenings as competency permits.
• Communicate with other health care offices as directed by providers.
