Job summary

Scripps Health is seeking a Clinical Support professional for Santee Clinic to handle rooming, vitals, and patient care duties in a fast-paced primary care setting.

The role requires a Medical Assistant program or equivalent military MA background, BLS certification, and willingness to administer injections to children. This is a full-time, on-site position with benefits in Central San Diego County.

Qualifications

• Formal Medical Assistant program completed or two years as Military Corpsman/MA certification.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification by the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Willing to administer shots to kids and infants.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures.
• Clinic prep and protocol support for providers.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment.
• Support physician practice through patient care services.
• Relay physician instructions to patients or approved persons.
• Collect patient data in person and by phone.
• Document patient concerns, messages and care provided in the EMR.

This is a benefited, full-time position based at Scripps Clinic Santee, generally working Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Your job duties:

• Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures
• Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment
• Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician's practice
• Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person
• Collecting patient data in person and by phone
• Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review
• Administering medications specifically directed by the physician
• Scheduling of appointments and procedures
• Complete and accurate message taking
• Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction
• Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications
• Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program or a minimum of two years of experience as a Military Corpsman or Medical Assistant Certification
• BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Willing to administer shots to kids and infants

Preferred Qualifications:

• Primary Care MA experience
