Job summary

Scripps Health's Mission Valley Dermatology location is seeking a full-time Clinical Support role handling both front and back office duties, including rooming patients, vitals, scribing, and EMR documentation. Work is Monday–Friday with 8-hour day shifts; no weekends or evenings.

Ideal candidates have a Medical Assistant program or certification (or 2 years of military corpsman experience) and BLS certification. Dermatology experience is a plus; new grads are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program, or Medical Assistance Certification, or a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman.
• BLS required in clinical setting for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Dermatology experience preferred.

Job description

This is a full-time, benefitted position located at Scripps Clinic Mission Valley Dermatology. This position includes both front office and back office job duties (clerical and clinical).

We currently have two openings available. Positions are scheduled Monday through Friday, working 8-hour day shifts. No weekends or evenings are required.

Shift options include:

• 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
• Variable start times of 7:30 a.m., 8:00 a.m., or 8:30 a.m.

What you'll do:

• Home base will be at Mission Valley but will float to other sites regularly
• Rooming patients
• Presenting to the providers before every visit
• Checking vitals
• Assisting with procedures
• Scribing
• Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols
• Predominantly back-office responsibilities but is expected to help with front-office duties on an as-needed basis
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment
• Organizes and performs patient care services that support the provider's practice
• Relaying instructions from the provider to the patient or authorized person
• Collecting patient data in person and by phone
• Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review
• Administering medications specifically directed by the provider
• Scheduling of appointments and procedures
• Complete and accurate message taking
• Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction
• Order and referral entry
• Acquisition of pre-certifications
• Setting up of cases in EPIC
• Basic registration and updating of demographics
• Other duties assigned as needed
• Working on Biologics appeals and denials

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

• Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program, or Medical Assistance Certification, or a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman

Required Certification/Registration:

• BLS required in clinical setting for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:

• One year of experience as a MA in an outpatient setting preferred
• Dermatology experience
• Customer service or sales experience

Minimum Rate (USD): 25.95 - Maximum Rate (USD): 32.56
