Job summary

3M HEALTHCARE in Berkeley Heights, NJ is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) to support physicians, PAs and NPs with clerical duties, patient flow and procedures. The MA will prepare examination rooms, document vital signs in the EHR, review medications and allergies, and assist with scheduling and referrals in PMS/EHR.

Required are a high school diploma and completion of an accredited MA or phlebotomy program, with 0–1 year experience (2–4 years preferred) and BLS within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High‑school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program.
• 0–1 year related work experience; 2–4 years preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to commute to satellite offices as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain examination rooms and assist in patient flow.
• Take and document vital signs in the EHR.
• Update medication lists and document allergies.
• Enter orders and schedule appointments in PMS and EHR.
• Provide referrals and consultations as needed.
• Adhere to universal safety precautions and disposal of medical waste.
• Provide scribing services and support care transitions.
