INTEGRIS Health Medical Group Family Medicine, Oklahoma’s largest not-for-profit health system, has a great opportunity for a Medical Assistant in Northwest Oklahoma City, OK with Dr. Dean Ross. The Medical Assistant provides direct patient care by taking vitals, patient history, venipuncture, lab work, x-ray, referrals, and patient phone messages as directed by the provider and/or clinical supervisor. This position requires population-specific competencies and adherence to National Patient Safety Goals, based on the level of patient contact.

Qualifications
  1. Current nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification/registration; OR 6 months of clinic MA experience; OR the ability to successfully complete the INTEGRIS Health Caregiver Placement Program (CPP).
  2. 6 months of customer service experience preferred.
  3. CPR or BLS certification within 90 days of employment.
  4. Effective communication skills in English (Verbal/Written).

IMG Float Pool:

• If the position requires intraday travel, incumbents must be able to operate an INTEGRIS-owned vehicle OR a personal vehicle (non-INTEGRIS-owned) and must have a current driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities
  • Gather and document patient information, including lab values, pain levels, education needs, nutritional status, and potential complications.
  • Contribute to patient assessment and re-assessment.
  • Monitor and document patient status.
  • Participate in developing and evaluating the plan of care, including medication administration (excluding narcotics).
  • Manage large call volumes while maintaining excellent telephone etiquette.
  • Organize workflow to meet patient needs promptly.
  • Retrieve and transport medications as needed.

Reports to the assigned director, manager, supervisor, or lead. This position may have additional physical or respiratory fit test requirements. Moderate exposure to risks such as infections, blood and body fluids, electrical equipment, and chemicals is possible; standard precautions must be followed.
