Job summary

Corewell Health's Ionia ICC family medicine clinic is seeking a Medical Assistant to join a collaborative clinical support team. The role supports physicians and nurses to deliver high-quality patient care in a busy outpatient setting.

The position offers a daytime schedule (Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri) with 40 hours weekly, a structured onboarding, and a $3,000 sign-on bonus for external applicants or current CHW MA Apprentice Students, along with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program with hands-on clinical skills OR at least 1 year of direct patient care as MA, LPN, Paramedic, or EMT.
• AHA or ARC BLS certification required within 90 days.
• 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting preferred.
• CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, or NRCMA certification required within 120 days.

• Be a member of the clinical support team and work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure delivery of high-quality patient care.

Ionia ICC is made up of several different departments in one building. We house Family Medicine, Walk-In clinic, Women’s Health (2 days a week), Laboratory services, X-ray services and Ultrasound services. There is a culture of strong teamwork where everyone is there to deliver exemptional care and lean on each other. Scope of work

As a Medical Assistant with Corewell Health, you'll be a member of our clinical support team and work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of the best possible care. You'll be a vital part of our team, making a real difference in the lives of our patients.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent Required
• Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on, in-person clinical skills OR a minimum of one (1) year of experience working specifically in the role of a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with an MA scope of practice Required
• 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting Preferred
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days

• One of the following Required within 120 Days
  • AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
  • AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
  • NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA)
  • NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
  • NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)

Schedule

Monday: 6:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Wednesday: 6:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Thursday: 6:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Friday: 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
