Job summary

University Hospitals Pain Management seeks a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support in an outpatient setting, including rooming patients, taking vitals, and documenting in the EMR.

You will assist with front desk duties, support providers, promote efficient patient flow, and help maintain PHI privacy in accordance with UH policies.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates unit operations by managing patient flow.
• Assist front desk duties for the department, including scheduling patients and collecting/verifying payor information.
• Performs basic patient centered care as delegated by provider.
• Provides a safe environment for patients.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain PHI for our patients; annual training and UH policies apply.

A Brief Overview

The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support in an outpatient setting. This role includes but not limited to rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, documenting in the electronic medical record, assisting with procedures, supporting providers, and promoting efficient patient flow while delivering patient-centered care.
