Job summary

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset is seeking a Medical Assistant to support ENT providers at Lake Cumberland Physician Practices. The MA will perform patient assessments, collect specimens, document care, and help with daily clinic operations to ensure patient safety and a smooth revenue cycle.

Schedule: 5x8, Days (8a-5p). Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited medical assisting program, and Basic Life Support (BLS) within 60 days of hire.

• Graduate of accredited medical assisting program or equivalent preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) obtained within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient assessments and treatments under physician or nurse supervision.
• Perform basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
• Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition.
• Document patient care given.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and exam areas; perform clerical duties as assigned.

The Medical Assistant supports ENT providers at Lake Cumberland Physician Practices (LCPP) by providing high-quality clinical care and administrative support. This role is essential in ensuring efficient clinic operations, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and an exceptional patient experience. The Medical Assistant works collaboratively with providers, clinical staff, and administrative teams to support both patient flow and revenue cycle processes.

How you'll contribute

A Medical Assistant (MA)who excels in this role:

• Under the supervision of physician or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
• Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition.
• Documents patient care given.
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
• Maintains examination areas.
• Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
