Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (MA) to join the Gastroenterology Associates team at Lake Cumberland Physician Practices. You will provide high-quality clinical care and administrative support to ensure smooth patient flow and safety.

The role requires completion of an accredited medical assisting program, a high school diploma or equivalent, and CCMA/CMA/RMA licensure with BLS within 60 days of hire. Schedule is 5x8, days, with comprehensive benefits.

The Medical Assistant supports Gastroenterology Associates at Lake Cumberland Physician Practices (LCPP) by providing high‑quality clinical care and administrative support. This role is essential in ensuring efficient clinic operations, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and an exceptional patient experience. The Medical Assistant works collaboratively with providers, clinical staff, and administrative teams to support both patient flow and revenue cycle processes.

How you’ll contribute

A Medical Assistant (MA) who excels in this role:

• Under the supervision of physician or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
• Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition.
• Documents patient care given.
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
• Maintains examination areas.
• Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.

What we’re looking for

Applicants should be a graduate of an accredited medical assistance program or equivalent. Additional requirements include:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred.
• CCMA, CMA or RMA license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) obtained within 60 days of hire.

Schedule: 5x8, Days (8a-5p)
