Job summary

Mass General Brigham's Endocrinology & Thoracic specialty in Dover, NH seeks a Medical Assistant to join a patient-centered care team. The hybrid, full-time role supports providers and helps patients feel prepared and informed during visits.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, documenting vitals, assisting with education, specimen collection, and phlebotomy if competent. Immunizations and coordination with departments are also part of the role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years of direct Medical Assistant experience or medical field work.
• Basic Life Support certification preferred.
• National Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first approach.
• Ability to prioritize in a busy clinical environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, protocols, EHR systems, and medical office software.
• Ability to take vital signs, obtain manual blood pressure, and collect blood samples or other specimens.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, prepare exam rooms and equipment, and support efficient patient flow.
• Obtain and document medical information, including vital signs, height, weight, and updates to the medical record.
• Assist with patient education by reinforcing treatment plans, medications, diets, and provider instructions.
• Support clinical workflows, including specimen collection and preparation for testing; perform phlebotomy if competency is demonstrated.
• Administer immunizations as applicable, in accordance with certification, experience, and supervision requirements.
• Maintain immunization inventory and monitor expiration dates.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and other team members to support high-quality patient care.
• Assist with general office responsibilities such as phones, documentation, insurance forms, and coordination with other departments.
• Act as a positive patient advocate and provide excellent customer service throughout the care experience.
