Job summary

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree in Medical Assisting preferred.
  • 1-2 years of direct Medical Assistant experience or medical field work.
  • Basic Life Support certification preferred.
  • National Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients, prepare exam rooms and equipment, and support efficient patient flow.
  • Obtain and document medical information, including vital signs, height, weight, and updates to the medical record.
  • Assist with patient education by reinforcing treatment plans, medications, diets, and provider instructions.
  • Support clinical workflows, including specimen collection and preparation for testing; perform phlebotomy if competency is demonstrated.
  • Administer immunizations as applicable, in accordance with certification, experience, and supervision requirements.
  • Maintain immunization inventory and monitor expiration dates.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and other team members to support high-quality patient care.
  • Assist with general office responsibilities such as phones, documentation, insurance forms, and coordination with other departments.
  • Act as a positive patient advocate and provide excellent customer service throughout the care experience.
