Job Summary

Wentworth Health Partners (WHP), an affiliate of Wentworth-Douglass Hospital and member of Mass General Brigham Medical Group, offers Endocrinology and Diabetes Care at our state-of-the-art facility at 10 Members Way in Dover,NH. This practice provides care for patients with endocrine conditions, including diabetes, thyroid disorders, and a broad spectrum of other hormonal disorders. Our expert team of clinical and administrative professionals focus on specialized diagnostics and treatment, including advanced patient education programs to assist individuals looking to improve their health and enjoy a better quality of life. We're seeking an experienced per-diem Registered Nurse to join our Endocrinology team picking up shifts during the practice's operating hours of Monday through Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. This per-diem RN will help fill staffing gaps caused by call-outs, vacations, leaves, and vacancies. In this position, patient care is delivered predominantly over the phone, with limited face-to-face interaction. Nurses will independently assess patient symptoms, medication questions, and chronic disease concerns related to endocrinology—such as diabetes, thyroid disorders, and other hormonal conditions—using established triage protocols to guide clinical decision-making. We do our best to keep all employees in their assigned practices and locations; however, you may also be asked to float to other departments in the WHP system when appropriate and needed during times of staffing shortages/other extenuating circumstances for cross-coverage purposes and to ensure adequate coverage and support. Responsible for patient care and support within our hospital's outpatient setting through providing compassionate care, assisting in procedures, and collaborating effectively in a dynamic ambulatory care environment. Essential Functions
  • Deliver direct patient care and support in our ambulatory care unit, ensuring high nursing standards.
  • Conduct patient assessments, devise care plans, and assist in outpatient procedures with a focus on patient comfort and safety.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and post-procedure care.
  • Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
  • Administer medications, perform IV therapy, and maintain accurate patient records in compliance with regulations.
  • Uphold infection control protocols and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
Education
  • Associate's Degree Nursing required
  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred
Licenses and Credentials
  • Registered Nurse [RN - State License] - required
  • Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - preferred
Experience
  • Clinical nursing experience 0-1 year required
  • Ambulatory care or outpatient experience 1-2 years preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Proficient knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
