Job summary

The role reports to the Office Manager and Cardiologist(s) and requires strong communication and patient-centered care. Massachusetts affiliation with MA certification preferred but not required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program strongly preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, ideally in a cardiology or specialty practice preferred.
  • Massachusetts certification as MA preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for cardiology visits, including intake, vital signs, and documentation
  • Perform EKGs and assist with cardiac-related clinical procedures
  • Support physicians during patient exams and treatments
  • Document patient information accurately in the EMR/EHR
  • Coordinate patient flow to maintain an efficient clinic environment
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients in person and over the phone
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical workspace
  • Ensure confidentiality and regulatory standards

Schedule: Per Diem

Pay Range: $20.00 - $26.00 / Hourly

Shift: Day shift

Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm

Join our cardiology team as a Medical Assistant, where you'll play a critical role in supporting physicians and delivering high-quality patient care. In this role, you'll work directly with cardiologists to prepare patients for visits, perform key clinical tasks, and help ensure a smooth and efficient workflow in a fast‑paced specialty practice.

Reporting to the Office Manager and working under the direct supervision of Cardiologist(s), you'll be an essential part of delivering compassionate, patient‑centered cardiovascular care.

What You'll Do
  • Prepare patients for cardiology visits, including intake, vital signs, and documentation
  • Perform EKGs and assist with cardiac‑related clinical procedures
  • Support physicians during patient exams and treatments
  • Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR/EHR)
  • Coordinate patient flow to maintain an efficient clinic environment
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients in person and over the phone
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical workspace
  • Ensure compliance with confidentiality, safety, and regulatory standards
What You Bring
Required Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program strongly preferred
Preferred Experience
  • 2-4 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, ideally in a cardiology or specialty practice preferred
Licensure & Certification
  • Medical Assistant certification in Massachusetts preferred but not required
Key Skills & Strengths
  • EKG experience required
  • Ability to accurately take and record vital signs
  • Strong patient care and customer service skills
  • Experience with EMR/EHR systems; Meditech and GE Centricity preferred
  • Excellent communication skills (in person and by phone)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
