Job summary

Emerson Cardiovascular Associates seeks a Medical Assistant to join our cardiology team and support physicians with patient prep, documentation, and clinical tasks. This per diem position emphasizes accurate vital signs, EKGs, and efficient clinic flow in a fast-paced cardiovascular setting.

The role reports to the Office Manager and Cardiologist(s) and requires strong communication and patient-centered care. Massachusetts affiliation with MA certification preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program strongly preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, ideally in a cardiology or specialty practice preferred.
• Massachusetts certification as MA preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for cardiology visits, including intake, vital signs, and documentation
• Perform EKGs and assist with cardiac-related clinical procedures
• Support physicians during patient exams and treatments
• Document patient information accurately in the EMR/EHR
• Coordinate patient flow to maintain an efficient clinic environment
• Provide excellent customer service to patients in person and over the phone
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical workspace
• Ensure confidentiality and regulatory standards
