Job summary

Premise Health in Elko, NV, is seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant to support our Health Center. The role primarily serves lab areas and may float to other clinical zones as needed. Shift is 4x10 on a Tue-Fri schedule, with occasional weekend coverage.

Responsibilities include taking vital signs, recording health data, preparing rooms, administering medications, performing basic lab tests and EKGs, and handling front-desk tasks. NV-specific certs and BLS are required or preferred.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certification(s) required or eligible.
• Current BLS/CPR/Basic Life Support for healthcare providers required.
• NV State Lab Certificate preferred.
• Experience in clinical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients and measures vital signs (pulse, temperature, BP, weight, height).
• Maintains patient health records to ensure accuracy.
• Prepares treatment rooms, cleans and sterilizes instruments.
• administers medications including injections; performs lab tests and EKGs as permitted.
• Performs administrative tasks at front desk; schedules appointments; follow-up calls; orders supplies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

As a Full Time Medical Assistant, you'll provide care to client employees and their dependents in our Health Center located in Elko, NV. This position will primarily support the Lab and float to other clinical areas as needed. The scheduled hours are 4x10 shifts of 8:00am- 7:00pm, Tuesday-Friday. One weekend per month of Sat & Sun, 8am-2pm may be required as needed. Enjoy fewer workdays!

What You’ll Do

• Interviews patients and measures vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height)
• Maintains patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date records
• Prepares treatment rooms, cleans and sterilizes instruments
• Medication administration including injections, performs laboratory tests, operates EKGs and other diagnostic equipment as permitted by state regulations
• Performs administrative tasks, assists at the front desk, schedules appointments, makes follow-up calls, and orders medical supplies
• Performs other duties as assigned

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities

What You’ll Bring

• National certification in Medical Assisting from a Premise Health approved organization OR Certificate/Diploma and Transcripts from an accredited Medical Assistant program with hands on externship completed and passed- total online courses are not accepted
• Current certification with hands-on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required
• State Lab Certificate (NV only)
• Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred

Premise provides its reasonable and genuinely expected range of compensation for this job of $20.00 - $25.00 per hour. A number of factors will influence the rate offered for this position, including your experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other factors.
