IU Health is seeking a Medical Assistant Educator to support the development, onboarding, and ongoing education of Medical Assistants throughout the West Region. The role ensures clinical excellence by delivering training, supporting learners, coordinating student placements, and partnering with operational leaders to promote workforce development.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree is required.
• Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Current certification in medical assisting (CMA, CCMA, NCMA, or CMAC).
• Knowledge of adult education principles and applications.
• Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate curriculum and training resources.
• Knowledge of computer software applications.
• Ability to assess and diagnose learner needs.
• 3-5 years of ambulatory experience, and 1 year of teaching experience or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, facilitates, implements, and evaluates education in the Medical Assistant Program.
• Assists in development and implementation of student performance standards, admissions and selection, and program accreditation activities.
• Ensures education in the program is properly coordinated, and that all students receive adequate instruction, simulation skill practices, and experiences.
• Assists in developing promotional materials for internal and/or external publicity.
• Coordinate external Medical Assistant student placements from onboarding through program completion.
• Collaborate with education team members, regional leaders, and community educational institutions.
• Travel to regional clinic locations as needed and occasionally to Indianapolis for meetings and educational initiatives.
