MaineHealth is offering sign-on bonuses for Medical Assistants for a limited time:

• $4,000 for 0-1 years of experience (full-time)
• $5,000 for 1+ years of experience (full-time)
• Bonuses are available to candidates hired into a full or part-time MA position, with prorated amounts for part-time hires. Per diem hires are ineligible.
• Current MaineHealth employees are ineligible; former employees are ineligible until more than 6 months since separation.

Summary:
The Medical Assistant (MA) supports patient care and administrative tasks in a team-based environment, ensuring a smooth patient flow. The MA works under the physician or advanced practice practitioner's license when performing clinical and patient care responsibilities.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following: graduate from an accredited vocational or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience; complete an Adult Education Medical Assistant program with 6 months of clinical experience; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice. Equivalent experience will be evaluated case-by-case.
• License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification preferred or achieved within one year. BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of start date. For positions in New Hampshire, NH Med Tech License or NH EMT/National Registry EMT license is required.
• Experience: At least 6 months of clinical experience with certification or 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Additional Skills/Requirements: None specified.
