Gastroenterology Associates, PC in Warrenton, VA is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team and help drive patient success in our community. This position is available on a PRN basis Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 4:30pm at our office in Warrenton, VA and offers a great work-life balance with no nights or weekends required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous Medical Assistant experience.
• Preferred experience in a medical office environment.
• Basic Life Support Certification required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations.

Responsibilities

• Mostly clerical work with some patient interaction via phone.
• Collect specimens for laboratory analysis as applicable.
• Obtain, verify, and record patients' health histories.
• Assist the physician with office visits and emergencies.
• Manage patient prescriptions and referrals as directed by the physician.
• Answer patient questions and notify patients of test results.
• Prepare examination rooms and restock supplies.
• Assist with scheduling office visits and procedures.
