Job summary

Gastroenterology Associates, PC seeks a Medical Assistant to join the team on a PRN basis at our Warrenton, VA office. The role involves clerical duties with patient interaction by phone and support for physicians during visits.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, prior MA experience, and BLS certification. Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical skills are required to deliver safe, quality care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience as Medical Assistant required.
• BLS certification required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology required.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations.

Responsibilities

• Mostly clerical work with some patient interaction via phone.
• Collect specimens for laboratory analysis as applicable.
• Obtain, verify, and record health history of patients.
• Assist the physician with office visits and emergencies.
