Job summary

HCA Healthcare in Orange Park, FL seeks a Medical Assistant to join our practice. You will prepare patients for examinations, take histories and vital signs, and assist with injections, labs, and minor procedures.

Qualifications

• One year of Medical Assisting or other direct clinical patient care experience.
• Medical Assistant Certification is required. Acceptable certifications are RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, NRCMA, or ABR-OE credentials.
• Recent MA graduates must obtain Medical Assistant certification within 60 days of employment.
• Candidates with one year of MA experience who lack certification must obtain certification within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs.
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with the necessary instruments and maintain supplies and equipment.
• Give injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy.
• Assist physicians in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals.
• Answer telephone calls to the practice and screen for referrals.
