Job summary

Mercy Clinic Southfork Float Pool is seeking a Medical Assistant to greet and room patients, obtain vital signs, and support clinicians across several specialty clinics in the St. Louis area. The role involves preparing patients for exams, performing basic tests, and documenting care in the EHR.

You will coordinate referrals, scheduling, and front desk duties in a fast-paced outpatient setting. Ideal candidates have MA training, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a busy

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• One year of patient care or medical office experience preferred.
• New hire must attend MA Clinic Academy training.

Responsibilities

• Greet and room patients; obtain vitals.
• Complete standard rooming in primary care.
• Collect and update medical history including medication list.
• Prepare patients for examination and assist providers.
• Perform basic diagnostic tests (urine dip, glucose, EKG) as competent.
• Document care accurately and timely.
• Reinforce patient education after provider input.
• Maintain clean exam rooms and supply levels.
• Assist with scheduling tests, referrals, and follow-ups.
• Handle front desk tasks: check-in/out, phones, faxes.
