Job summary

VHC Health in Falls Church, VA seeks a Medical Assistant to maintain a clean, stocked clinical area and support patient care. You will perform phlebotomy, collect specimens for labs, take vitals, prep patients for procedures, and assist with patient flow and documentation.

Qualifications

• Six months of healthcare experience is required.
• One year of healthcare/medical office experience is preferred.
• BLS certification is required; MA certification or EMT preferred.
• Knowledge of the Bloodborne Pathogen Standard is required.
• Experience in clinical pharmacology is required.

Responsibilities

• Clean, stock, and prepare the clinical environment for patient care.
• Perform phlebotomy and prepare specimens for labs.
• Take vital signs and assist with patient procedures.
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, collect co-pays and payments.
• Assist with billing and update the electronic medical record.
