Job summary

VHC Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the clinical environment and patient flow in a fast-paced office setting. The role includes phlebotomy, specimen preparation for labs, simple lab procedures, vital signs, and patient preparation for procedures.

Employees provide general clinical support to physicians, handle phones and appointments, collect payments, assist with billing, and document information in the electronic medical record.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduation from a medical assisting degree/program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures clinical environment is cleaned, stocked, and ready for patient care.
• Performs phlebotomy and prepares specimens for transport to labs.
• Performs simple laboratory procedures, takes vital signs, and prepares patients for procedures, assisting with patient flow.
• Provides general clinical support to physicians and staff, answers phones, makes appointments, collects co-pays and payments, assists with billing, and updates the electronic medical record.
