Position Overview

We are seeking a Medical Assistant, Clinic Operations Lead to manage daily operations at our Needham, MA clinic. This role combines clinical responsibilities with operational leadership, split evenly between patient care and administrative tasks. You will collaborate closely with the Market Practice Manager and serve as a key team member.

This is an excellent opportunity for a self-starter eager to grow into a Practice Manager role as the clinic expands.

Schedule & Requirements

• Schedule: Monday-Friday
• EMR System: Athena

Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities (50%)

• Lead by example in clinical care, demonstrating efficiency, professionalism, and compassionate, weight-inclusive care
• Provide direct patient care: vitals, histories, triage, procedures, virtual support
• Manage patient flow from check-in to discharge
• Coordinate follow-up care, referrals, prior authorizations, and test tracking
• Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms
• Support weight-inclusive, affirming patient interactions

Operational & Leadership Responsibilities (50%)

• Serve as the on-the-ground team member, escalating issues and supporting clinic needs
• Partner with the Practice Manager on daily operations and staff coordination
• Mentor and onboard new Medical Assistants
• Assist with administrative tasks: inventory, scheduling, performance tracking
• Identify workflow improvements in collaboration with leadership
• Support team communication and alignment

Minimum Requirements

• Leadership mindset with a focus on clinical excellence and inclusive care
• Certified Medical Assistant with 3+ years of clinical experience
• Experience as a lead MA or trainer is a plus
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Comfort with clinical and operational challenges
• Familiarity with EMRs (Athena preferred)
• Patient-first attitude and commitment to non-judgmental care
• Aspiring to grow into Practice Manager or leadership roles
