Job Details
  • Position: Certified Medical Assistant
  • Hours: 08:30AM - 5:00PM, Monday to Friday
  • Location: Princeton, NJ
  • Department: Rheumatology
Summary

Assists physicians, residents, nurse practitioners, and nurses in providing clinic services for patients, including vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, point of care testing, immunizations, and documentation of results.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist physicians, nurse practitioners, and nurses during clinic hours in the delivery of care, including physicals, travel medicine, and treatment of workplace injuries.
  2. Perform and document blood pressure, height, and weight measurements.
  3. Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and other screening tests as directed, including immunizations.
  4. Gather basic patient information.
  5. Assist nurses in processing documents and data entry into systems like Quadramed/QCPR, e-MDs.
  6. Support clerical duties alongside nurses and physicians.
  7. Work collaboratively with staff to provide high-quality customer service.
  8. Produce routine reports as needed.
  9. Provide reception services, including answering phones, greeting patients, and registering them.
  10. Monitor and organize medical supplies, creating lists for orders and maintaining stock levels.
  11. Maintain a neat and professional department environment.
  12. Develop and deliver special projects as assigned.
  13. Utilize time effectively in administrative functions.
  14. Ensure efficient use of resources, supplies, and equipment.
  15. Communicate effectively with all staff to ensure smooth operations and teamwork.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned.
  17. Support departmental goals for customer service and performance improvement.
  18. Maintain confidentiality and participate in compliance activities.
  19. Complete required competencies and adhere to patient safety and quality standards.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned.
Credentials
  • MA-AAMA, MA-AMT, MA-NCCT, or MA-NHA (Required)
  • Medical Assistant Certification (Required)
  • Driver's License (Required), valid New Jersey driver’s license
  • Hearing Conservation and Spirometry preferred
Education or Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • 2-3 years healthcare experience preferred, especially in a doctor's office or with electronic medical records.
